The new government’s employment law promises include:
- Giving employees the right to claim unfair dismissal from day one of their employment instead of needing two years service
- Removing the National Wage age branding
- Making Statutory Sick Pay available to all workers
- Zero hours contracts : ban “one sided” flexibility
- Introducing a new duty on employers to inform all new employees of their right to join a union, which will need to be part of the written contract
