New National Minimum Wage (NMW) from April 2023.

Starting from April 1st, 2023, the National Minimum Wage is scheduled to increase between 9.7% and 10.9%.

The aim of this increase is to improve the living standards of low-income workers in response to the current cost-of-living crisis and align with the Government’s target of reaching two-thirds of median earnings for the relevant population by 2024.

Despite the challenging economic situation, this significant rise could be a challenge for employers, who need to prepare for the new hourly rates. The revised rates are as follows:

AgeNew rates from April 2023Current rates
23 or over£10.42£9.50
21 to 22£10.18£9.18
18 to 20£7.49£6.83
